Fear - this picture always reminds me. I seem to be climbing here; no, I'm gripped. Why - because Richard has just led the traverse left from my position and when I take out the pro, there is the prospect of a delicate shuffling crab across with no help whatsoever from a rope which even DESCENDS to Richard's belay. A fall from here into space, hundreds of feet above the sea, is just unthinkable but fills my mind. As I dither Richard shouts a warning that rain is sweeping in (you can see rain shrouding the distant lighthouse) and to get on with it before it hits the rock. With surprising calm he talks me across. I have never ever felt such a flooding of relief.
